影片随着列车的行进把观众带进风景秀丽的法国南部，然后到达巴黎，在欣赏法国迷人风光的同时，故事一点点展开，其中有爱情的甜蜜，也有分手后刻骨铭心的愁苦，十年之后重逢的惊讶与矛盾，到最后有情人终成眷属。虽然是一部爱情片，情节也有点简单老套，但导演对镜头和故事讲述方法的运用自如，演员的精湛演技再加上浪漫的法国使整部电影蒙上了梦幻般的色彩，在观众心头挥之不去。

这部电影是英国约克郡电视台投拍的，女主角非常漂亮，虽然角色年龄跨度10年，但让人觉得一点不需假，把少女的柔美和成熟女性的优雅都表现得淋漓尽致。
