孙智燊,笔名孙格拉底(Suncrates),祖籍河北宁晋,1935年生于四川遂宁。

人物生平
台大外文学士(1959),尝从曾约农教授习翻译,从方东美教授习哲学;辅大哲学硕士(1963);出国前曾任台大外文系讲师;旋入美国加州大学UCLA哲研所深造(1964);1971获南伊大哲学博士。毕业后执教美国南阿拉巴马州大学近卅年,先后担任台大及中国文化大学哲研所长,获颁文大「华冈教授」,现退休。著有《中国形上学与怀德海》、〈从大易生生之理看中西印思想在形上学、宗教、与哲学人性论上之高峰统会〉、〈哥德与中国文化〉、〈胡色尔现象学与唯识宗佛学初探〉、〈从裴伯藏喻法论大易哲学之五奇九胜〉、〈沉静中之追忆——东美先生其人其学及其成就与贡献〉等论文多篇。汉译除本书外,尚有柏拉图《对话录﹕讌飨篇》,韩路易《增进东西文化交融》。英译则有方著〈哲学三慧〉、〈黑格尔哲学之当前难题与历史背景〉、〈中国哲学精神讲话〉、后汉安清世高本《阿难问事佛吉凶经》等。曾当选美国阿拉巴马州哲学会副会长,荣获「美国杰出教育工作者奖」(1975);现任「东美研究所」创办人兼所长;《东美学报:广大和谐 --比较哲学与文化》总编辑;美国加州克莱蒙神学院「历程学研究中心」中国部顾问;北大《中文论坛》「古典文献学版」在线学者。”
