罗得岛设计学院（Rhode Island School of Design，简称RISD），建校于1877年，是一所私立设计学院。

该专业对申请者手绘及设计能力要求很高，除此之外，学校对申请者的批判性思维以及专业技能要求很高。本科生课程偏重于基础知识的沉淀积累，例如视觉语言技巧的训练，设计方法的学习，为同学毕业从事相关工作打下了坚实基础。

陶艺专业（Ceramics）

罗得岛设计学院另一个比较著名的是它的冬季6 周课程Winter Sessions (a 6-week periodbetween the Fall and Spring terms)。这个课程是以多元性著称，而这个课程对申请到罗得岛设计学院的学生是十分重要的，因为学生可以在此课程中学习到各项关于艺术方面的基础课程，例如绘画、工业设计、铜塑等其他课程，不同的系可以相互选择课程选修。

冬季班也可提供到海外学习的机会，可以让参与此课程的学生到欧洲巴黎、意大利 Matera 和爱丁堡等地学习观摩。

罗得岛设计学院提供专业教育在艺术，视觉媒体，架构，设计和文科。布朗提供全面的物理、生物科学、社会科学、数学和科学的教育。课程的目的是为了培养高素质的人才和锻炼学生整合不同领域的学科的能力，在这个过程中他们获得来自两个学院的，更广泛的知识和资源。学生必须申请两个学院，并被同时被录取，然后才可以被批准加入双学位课程DDP。
