《英语综合高级教程(上册)》注重灵活运用词汇短语。设置词汇短语填空练习、派生词汇练习、释义练习、修辞手段识别练习等。 根据TEM-8考试特点，设置有人文知识练习和校对练习。 Text One为示范性话语材料，供教师学生课堂分析讨论。Text Two为学生独立学习之用。题材、体栽、难易程度与Text One基本一致，便于学生模仿学习，建构相应话语，形成相应图式。
