歌曲收录于齐秦1994年《无情的雨无情的你》专辑中，原歌为Chris De Burgh（克里斯·蒂伯，1948年10月15日出生于阿根廷）于1975年自己作曲作词演唱的《A Spaceman Came Travelling》（翻译为《一个太空人来旅行》）。

这首翻唱的《直到世界末日》词作者为杨立德。其更深邃的词意表达，也让这首歌成为这张专辑中最有内涵的作品，并为这张原本应该叫《边界》的专辑，注入了比较文学化的历史反思，当然，这也从另一方面证明了齐秦在对音乐更进一步的追求上，确实已经达到了他能力的极限。

代表“至死不渝，不离不弃”感情的“末日之恋”曾一度引起争议，反对声音认为字面含义过于消极，不可理解；大多数80、90后支持者认为“末日之恋”珠宝信物所转递的理念恰好可以很准确而不矫揉造作的表达一种爱的信念和誓言。珠宝设计师：湖北珠光宝气职业培训学校校长-胡小凡为“末日之恋”撰文：

齐秦（Chyi Chin），1960年1月12日出生于台湾省台中市，歌手齐豫的弟弟，中国台湾男歌手、音乐创作人。[1]

1981年发行第一张唱片《又见溜溜的她》，后应征入伍。1985年退役后发表个人第一张创作专辑《狼》。1987年因创作歌曲《大约在冬季》受到广泛关注，并获得第11届十大中文金曲。1991年首次受邀赴大陆举办“齐秦CHINA TOUR大陆巡回演唱会”。1997年凭借专辑《丝路》获第8届金曲奖最佳男演唱人奖。2001年获得首届音乐风云榜跨越世纪杰出音乐奖。获得2010年度中国歌曲排行榜华语歌坛杰出成就大奖。[2-8]
